Kresley Cole returns with a breathtaking romantic saga of love, honor, and passion unbound -- as a man of duty faces his greatest trial, and a young castaway discovers her greatest desire....

A man noted for his courage and integrity, Captain Grant Sutherland journeys to Oceania to find Victoria Dearbourne, an English girl lost at sea a decade before. He's given her ailing grandfather his word -- as a gentleman -- to find and protect her. But one look at a grown Victoria and Grant has never felt less like one.

Tori relishes freedom, untamed passion, and spontaneity above stifling order. Even more so when a proud, cold British captain arrives to rescue her, though she has no wish to be. As Grant tries to convince her to leave her island home, she begins to see in him a man hungering for more. A man who once laughed. A man who desires her but won't take what she offers.

Grant struggles to control his own savage passions -- and fails, Tori must decide what she wants more -- her unfettered independence or the only man who could tame her wild heart....

THE PRICE OF PLEASURE

I READ "THE CAPTIAN OF ALL PLEASURES" FIRST AND THAT MADE ME WANT TO READ MORE. AND WHEN I READ THIS BOOK IT WAS EVEN BETTER. I LAUGHED, CRIED, AND LONGED FOR MORE RIGHT ALONG WITH THE CHARACTERS. WITH TORI BEING LOST FOR SO LONG AND THE WAY GRANT FOUND HER GAVE IT AN PLEASANTLY SUPRISING TWIST,LOVED IT.

If you love Kathleen Woodiwiss books, you'll love this one...

This book is so well written it is the first historical romance I have read that is worthy of being compared to the late, great Kathleen Woodiwiss.

Check out her Immortals After Dark series--it's fantastic!

SHIPWRECKED!

I like the premise of this book. Heroine is stranded on a deserted island for 8 years and hero comes to her rescue. I liked this book a bit more than its predecessor Captain of Pleasures which was about Grant's brother Derek. I think if someone was on a deserted island since the age of 13 they would have had more trouble than this heroine had coming back to the mainland. She describes a few troubles she has such as using silverware again and not wearing shoes, but I think the author missed out on a lot of funny scenes that could have occurred with this hero and heroine and her adjusting to life away from the island. Overall though I really liked the book and look forward to reading more from this author.

The Price of Pleasure

The book is well written, holding one's interest from the start. It doesn't lag, and has very few places with "filler" information.
The style is good, in keeping with the period for which written.

Good writer

I always like to read the bio of the author if possible. The ease and flow of her writing amply reflects her master's degree in English. Overall, I found the two characters likeable. But this book is not in the category of books that stay with you and make you wish that it was an actual story of your life.
First, the book requires that the reader suspends reality by believing that a 13 year old girl and a genteel English woman can somehow survive for a decade, and not only survive, but create a habitat of the highest level of workmanship. The girl may be a genius, but I found it hard to believe. Maybe that's why I just couldn't take any of the developing romance seriously because all the early events were unrealistic. Additionally, the young lady just seems to engender love in all that meet her very easily; she is very blessed. That said, you shouldn't bypass the book either if you're looking for a pleasant read. As I've said, the writing is good and after the initial sense of disbelief, the characters are pleasant. The premise of the story is quite interesting...I loved "Swiss Family Robinson" and "Robinson Crusoe." I may try another book by this author. Just the fact that she can actually write in proper grammar is a big plus, which is sadly not the case for the slew of romance books flooding the market recently.
