is incoherent and potentially paralyzing, as risks exist on all sides of social situations and there is no 'general' precautionary principle as such. His insight into The
Laws
of Fear represents a major statement for the contemporary world from one of the most influential political and legal theorists writing today.
Fear rules
Not a lawyer found the writing somewhat turgid and slow; on the other hand our decision making and valuation of life and risk is certainly not epistimic. Read just before the Black Swan which discusses risk from a different angle. For those involoved in lives with risks this is interesting reading
