Does

know how to use a check book? Boil an egg? Do the laundry? Read a map? Homeschooler Christine Field helps parents systematically teach
kids
- from preschool to the teen years - what they need to know to thrive as adults.
Wonderful and practical information!
I had the chance to meet the author of this book at a recent homeschool conference and was blown away by her practical ideas! This woman is not big on ideology or theory...she gets down to the practical matters at hand. Yeah for her! You will love this book if you are looking for ways to involve
your

classroom.

A great resource!
This is a great resource for parents who want to teach their
child
ren what they'll
real
ly need to know. Everything from finances to cooking to simple repairs to hygeine is included...and for ALL ages! It's a book I refer to often!
a must read!
I just got this book and cannot put it down -- Christine offers such EXCELLENT, easy to implement, practical ideas for teaching
kids
the everyday
skills
they need to get through
life
. Highly recommended!
If you can't get past bible quotes, don't get this book
While I give credit to the goal and objectives of this book-- teaching

child
ren about good decision-making, working as a team, self-esteem, self-sufficiency-- the bible references can be a little hard to swallow for the secular parent who's homeschooling their child not for religious reasons, or just wants to use the materials offered in this book. If you can't stomach comments in the 'spiritual habits' chapter such as 'The Bible is clear that homosexuality is a perversion'(with the scripture refernces to prove it) or a

checklist of whether everyone has their own bibles (despite the quick comment earlier to letting your
kids
'study' other religions if they're curious) , then you may not want to contribute to the royalty check the author will receive from purchase of this book.
