Family Favorite

I bought this book for my daughter. She made the pancakes from it one morning; they were delicious! It's been a family favorite ever since. The recipes are great for budding cooks because they aren't complicated (but still quite tasty). And of course it's fun that they are related to the stories.

So Cute!

I got this book for my daughter and absolutely love it. We are big Nancy Drew fans and thought we might like the book. Not only is it fun because it uses Nancy's cases and friends for inspiration for the recipes, the recipes are also really good. We've enjoyed this book a lot!

A Retro Classic, With Some Good Stuff

The authors of the Nancy Drew Cookbook have cleverly and completely captured the essence of the Nancy Drew novels, as they still existed in the early 1970s (I understand Miss Drew has been significantly updated in recent years).

Most of the recipes look as if they were designed by a dietitian for a school cafeteria, but there are a few bright spots here and there, as well as many actual good cooking and entertaining tips.

I once held an Elvis party and tried to recreate Elvis' favorite foods. This is the type of cookbook I used, one which offered essentially plain, homey food, not at all in accord with today's dietary fashions.

This book is a great collectable for Nancy Drew fans who just love everything about our heroine, America's #1 girl detective!

The recipes are of the type that would have been popular in the 40's, 50's and 60's -- don't look for a big emphasis on organic sprouts. It's good ole' fashioned comfort food, and there's lots to choose from here, with recipes keyed to Nancy's famous cases.
