Growing Up Just Got Easier...

With the help of Angus, the lovable Answer Dog, best-selling author Heidi Murkoff extends a hand to children and parents as they tackle life's first experiences together.

It's hard to believe, but your child's starting preschool. Even if it's just for a couple of hours two or three days a week, it seems such a big step for someone in such little sneakers. Not to worry -- we're here to help prepare both of you for that step. We'll answer your child's questions about what preschool is like, what preschoolers do, who teachers are, and how they help to make preschool such a fun and special place -- so that the first day of preschool will be a day you'll both look forward to.

Have fun!

really helped my girl

My daughter was very apprehensive about starting pre-school at age 3 1/2. This book helped to explain what school is like and what to expect. She didn't want to go and this book helped to convince her to try it. Now in month 2 she really loves school.

A Must-Read for Preschoolers

This is an excellent book for those entering preschool for the first time! It explains exactly what happens throughout the day while away at school and reassures the young readers that mom and dad return. It highlights the fun activities they have to look forward to and sparks excitement for school.

Better for older 1st-time preschoolers

This is a well-written and thoughtful book, but it's a bit wordy and factual for the early (2 1/2 - 3 year-old) preschool set. Probably better for child who is starting preschool at age 3 1/2 - 4.

Very descriptive

This book is nicely written. I was a little concerned because some of the other 'what to expect' series books try to girlfriend you a bit too much and they were a turn off for me. But, this book is straight forward. It is written in language that is easily understood by a preschooler. I wish it had more of a story line however I think that any parent would find this book useful and a good opener for a discussion about preschool.

What to expect at preschool explains what the child will be doing at preschool.

This book is good but a little long per page. Being a preschool teacher I look for fewer words per page and bright pictures. It had the pictures, just too many words. It did tell the children what they would be doing in preschool.
