I am so disappointed!

I bought this book for my daughter for a preschool graduation gift. Mistakenly, I didn't read the book first. After hearing wonderful reviews for Pinkalicious, I thought this one would be just as good and she loves purple so. The girls in the book were horrible. I also hated the fact that the little girl, hurt by the girls, took out her frustrations on her brother. There was no redemption at the end and the message "be true to yourself is not even evident." What a negative book! In a society where fitting in and bullying has become an issue I think this book is terrible. I am a teacher and I would never read this book in my classroom. As a parent and an educator, this book is a disappointment. I am removing it from my daughter's library and replacing it with a book with a much better message.

Agree....it's horrible!

I agree with all the reviews about how horrible this book is. Very negative tone to it. My mom bought this book, and Pinkalicious for my daughter. She is an avid reader and loves children's books. Neither of us were impressed with either of the books. There's just a negative tone to the book - even in the way the parents talk to the children. If I could give it no stars, I would.
