At fifty-three, Kevin Nealon thought he had it all: a massive international celebrity with legions of loyal fans; a fabulous modeling career; hundreds of millions of dollars in the bank; and the most recognizable face on the planet. Nealon had accomplished the impossible: a thirty-year career in show business with only limited trips to rehab. But just like every other celebrity, he felt that was not enough. The perpetually insatiable Nealon wanted more, and for him "more" meant a little addition that drooled, burped, and pooped (no, not a Pomeranian).

Now, in his first-ever book, Nealon tells the outrageous story of how he battled through aching joints, Milano cookie cravings, and a rapidly receding hairline to become a first-time dad at an age when most fathers are packing their kids off to college. Offering hysterical commentary about his fickle, often hormonal, road to belated and bloated fatherhood, Nealon guides you through the delivery room and beyond, discussing how his past, his wife, and his neuroses all converged in a montage of side-splitting insecurities during the months leading up to the birth of his son.

In Yes, You're Pregnant, But What About Me?, Nealon details his trip through all the emotional stages of pregnancy?uncomfortable, denial, hungry, sleepy, self-conscious, hungrier, confused, cranky, not-quite-as-hungry but still craving something, sweaty, covered in cookie crumbs?all while struggling to keep his blood pressure down and find the time to read the latest issue of the AARP Bulletin. Wrestling with the dilemmas and fears that fathers have been dealing with for centuries (Can I duct-tape a crib together? How often can I reuse a disposable diaper? What if the baby looks like me and not my wife?), Nealon never fails to entertain with the frequent lunacy and inevitable joy that punctuate his story about parenthood.

Laugh-out-loud funny and remarkably poignant, Nealon's entertaining perspective and his wealth of sarcasm provide a take on fatherhood that is as fresh as it is universal, always reminding you that half the fun of being a parent is getting there.

Fun Book for a Fan, Fantastic Reading for a New Parent

I saw Kevin less than a year ago doing his stand-up routine at a comedy club, so while reading this book I couldn't help but picture him standing on stage doing his performance. A few of the jokes in the book I remember from his on-stage act, however for those that have seen him perform don't worry, this repetition is only for a small amount of material and it makes the book even more entertaining.

As a fairly new father, I found the book to be extremely funny. It is the first book I have read in a long time that had me laughing out loud regularly. Kevin's child was born less than two months after my own, so many of the topics he talks about are still very fresh in my mind. The truth behind many of the jokes mixed with Kevin's personality (and at times subtle wit) make this an excellent book for any new parent.

Goofy Kevin. Typical Kevin. Hilarious Kevin.

Loved it. Totally typical and hilarious Kevin Nealon. Every line I read, I could see his face...and I would have to chuckel. Great comedy. Highly recommended.

Great for Dads-to-Be

My husband and I are expecting our first baby in December. When we saw the cover of this book we giggled. I ordered it from Amazon as soon as it was released and gave it to my husband. From the first page to the last, he laughed and laughed. So much that I would get somewhat annoyed;) However, this book was a great tool for him to see that I'm not the only pregnant woman on the planet that is a bit crazy. Also, Kevin talked about all the changes that would occur as well as the items one needs to purchase for a baby. I had been telling my husband how expensive strollers were (well, at least the one that I am going to buy) and he would have nothing to do with the conversation. Once he read the section on strollers he said "you know, you are right, strollers are like cars for babies!" We discussed strollers on a more rational level and now we both cannot help but check out all the strollers at the park and compare them.

Moms-to-be: buy this for your mate. Yeah, it may be sarcastic. And Yeah, it's not as technical as What to Expect...but I don't know very many men that want to read traditional birthing books. This book was a great preparation book and it opened up many conversations between the two of us.

I sat down and read the book in one sitting and laughed until my stomach hurt-which I know the baby loved. I hope Kevin writes a book about toddlers.

Good

Enjoyed this book thoroughly. If the baby benefits from laughter, it must be doing great!
