Must read
I think every child, parent, and teacher should read this book - it is wonderful and inspiring - helping us to see the good in everyone. I read this to my kids when they were in elementary school, and I think it helped shape their concern for others - gave them the desire to look out for the underdog. Sometimes we have no idea the struggles that others are faced with - and it helps us all to realize that some folks burdens really are hard to carry. Maybe we will all be better off by being a bit more forgiving of others shortcomings. Hope this book is as beneficial to you as it has been for our family.

. It was written by Louis Sachar. This book is funny fiction.
Bradley Chalkers is a mean bully that bullies everyone in the school. He tells so many lies. Jeff Fishkin is a nice kid that is not a bully. Carla is a counselor who is trying to help Bradley learn to be nice. Will Bradley turn nice and be friends with Jeff or will he stay like a bully? Which boy enters the girl's bathroom? Read to find out more.
The author's message is if you want to have friends you have to be nice. The other lesson is to be yourself at a birthday party. It is on our class's top 10 because it is funny. Also it has some great lessons.

Funny and heartbreaking at the same time
Let's face it. Louis Sachar is pretty much a god in the world of children's literature. They are always funny and meaningful.
Maybe this book is more touching to me since I became a teacher.
There
are always the problem kids that no one understands, and that is the position in which the main character is. Here he finds an incredible relationship with a teacher and is able to change his ways.
Despite all the humor, I found myself bawling at so many spots. It has great lessons and great emotions. It's very real.
kcs boy in girls' bathroom
What if you were the oldest in the fifth grade, always bullies everyone around, and on one liked you or wanted to be your friend because you were so mean to everyone until this
boy
came from Washington D.C. The main character is Bradley Chalkers, he isn't a nice guy, he never pays attention in class, and he picks on people, but the people that aren't afraid of him pick on him. Bradley's' problem is that he doesn't get along with other people and he can't control his anger. Bradley goes to the school counselor to help his anger problem and to help him with his social life. I know if you were the counselor you would give up but Carla doesn't. The pacing of the book is fast in the begenning, slow in the middle, then fast at the end. This book is writing in a Christian's perspective because the main character is a bad person but thru the book he starts being a better person, but to find out if he stays a better person then you should read the book. I would recommend this book to middle scholars because they can relate to this book.

to people who like sad, happy and funny parts. This is about a boy named Bradley and he dislikes school. He has no friends because no one likes him. Bradley never participates in school. One day a new boy comes to school, Jeff Fishkin. Brad then becomes friends with Jeff. Even so, Jeff helps Bradley with his homework. Carla Davis is the new counselor at their school. In the beginning, Bradley never wanted anything to do with Carla, but then he grow to like her and whenever he has a problem he will go to her for help. I think this book is a very good book and I recommend it. By Emily Wallace
