Step into a dark and absurd where human beings are slaves to corporations, people are photocopied instead of born, and the baby jesus is a very popular anal probe.

Zombies, butt plugs, clones, and a demonic Baby Jesus.

This book is very short but it is also very good. It is about a couple who purchase a clone of Baby Jesus and use it as a butt plug. Sounds like it is going to be shock humor, doesn't it? Well, that's not true. I can understand why some readers were disappointed with this book because it isn't full of shock humor. It is actually a futuristic horror story about a clone of Baby Jesus that becomes demonic and raises the dead. The narrator and a group of clones of himself battle the zombies and the demonic Baby Jesus in order to save his wife. It is very weird, but also really cool. Plus there is a lot of commentary about mainstream culture in this book, so it's not just weird for the sake of weird. I recommend checking it out. It's definitely worth the cover price.

Wow.

This may be the first book I have actually caught myself giggling like schoolgirl whilst reading. Mellick has an uncanny knack of making the uncommon seem commonplace in his world of demented sexual deviance. Definitely a quick read to bring the all-too-adult soul back to a state of teenage gaiety.

Just don't let mom catch you reading it ;-).

Perfect!

Okay, to be honest I just bought this book for its title. I mean who could resist putting this one out on the coffee table for unsuspecting guests to notice. But once I got the book I read it in one sitting and found it hilarious! Now I am hooked on this author. If you like bizarre stuff and are willing to take a chance on something new, give this book a try.

The Baby Jesus Butt Plug

The Baby Jesus Butt Plug by Carlton Mellick III ****

Yes you read the title of the book correctly....And no it is not sacrilegious...well maybe a little. This is a book only for those with an open mind, the kind of person who enjoys literature not of the norm and status qua but a little off the beaten path. The story or the plot rather is hard to summarize, because well it isn't really a plot more of a message rather. While yes the title is offbeat and the drawings a little juvenile (though they really become vital to the story as it evolves) this book has a lot of meaning. Corporate America, organized religion, "bible-thumpers," opposers to the faith, and age-ism, nothing is sacred here. It is a short read, one an avid reader could maybe finish in about an hour or so, and one that leaves you cold, but in a good way, and one that leaves you scratching your head. I would not recommend this to anyone who by anymeans conciders themselves a 'consevative' but for those who have grown tired of the norm and have a open mind(make that a very, very, very open mind) this is something you may enjoy.

Short? Yes.. but still ENTERTAINING

Some reviewers are complaining because they feel like they wasted their money on such a short work. I can understand this. However, this work is really a novella (short novel) and can be read very quickly. That does NOT take a way from it's entertainment value. Also, you can actually read this in the BIZARRO STARTER KIT along with loads of other novellas and stories by other authors.

First, the book has a great twist on cloning. Is it going to offend religious people? Sure, but who cares? You have to challenge your beliefs sometimes. If you get angry at someone attacking your religion (or religious figure) than you have an unstable outlook on things.

Second, there are so many great images that the author creates. It's like a mental comic book.

Third, it's fast paced.. which is probably why some are complaining about how fast they have read it. So what it's 90 pages? Would you rather the author pad another 100 pages of fluff just to make it "worth your money". Stop thinking about QUANTITY and start thinking about QUALITY. I've read plenty of long novels that could have been cut down. I'd rather read a short, sweet to-the-point story than a long-winded one.

Anyway, this is a great warped, bizarro sci-fi tale. A fairy-tale for absurdist punks. It's the type of book you want to read again.
