Best book for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one

December 8, My daughter Janna was killed in Omaha by a snow plow in her own apartment parking lot. This story went coast to coast on TV. The story you did not see was the devastating impact this had on her mother and I. Someone gave us the book "Tear Soup".. I could not believe how the words in this book were the same feelings we were experiencing! I purchased 3 more books for my other adult kids to help bring them comfort also. It's not the answer to hurt and pain from loss, but it really does help to bring comfort! I highly recommend this book to anyone who has lost a loved one. It will help you to go on living, life must go on. JM

Give to anyone going through a change in life

This is a wonderful book that is great for anyone (young and old) who is going through changes in their life be it health, job, divorce, loss of a loved one etc. It is fast read which is nice but it also covers a lot of the emotions etc. that one goes through when dealing with a big change in their life. Now when I talk to others who have read the book all I have to say is "I made tear soup today" and they understand without me having to say anything else.

Helping a child grieve

My family used this book to explain death and grieving to my niece (3) and nephew (4) when my dad passed away last year. My niece will often ask if it is a tear soup kind of day if she feels someone is really sad. I think this book helped the kids as well as the adults. I would highly suggest it for anyone of any age.
