suburb series, but not for the impatient or those just looking for sexy romance

I recently finished reading Faefever and decided to see what others
where saying about the series. As I read, I realised that a lot of the people reading this were probably those who had been pulled in by KMM's romance titles. Although there are SOME romance archetypes here, this is really dark modern urban fantasy. As such, it is a wonderfully written totally engaging world with a plucky heroine in her darkest hour. Saying that, I do realize how those who come at it from a different angle could be frustrated. As a reader of many genres (romance, fantasy, mystery, horror)I think 5 books in 5 years is pretty reasonable Just try reading Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time, fantasy) - 11 books, one more to come. He published the first in '90, he passed away recently and the last book is being completed by a different author, to be published late next year.
My point being, have patience. What you think of as a place holder with an unbearable cliff hanger ending is totally essential to the story. In this time of "fast food everything" realise that just as your life was years in the making with dramatic ups and totally essential but quite downs, so is Macs. :0)

Hanging in There!

I love a good series because I know there's more to come. I read about Dark Hunters, Blood Brotherhoods,Vampires named Betsy, and anything else that is different and interesting. I'd read reviews about Moning's new series and decided to wait until I could get the first 3 all at once. They are really good! The books are well written with characters that ring true but I agree with the frustration of many other readers, release the books a month or two apart. Don't make us wait too long to find out what happens to Mac and her world. There is a fine line between anticipation and disappointment, but I know most of us will hang in there!

A little disappointed

I was hoping that this one would be more like the second. I was disappointed that it didn't have more dialog with the characters and action,,,,, I would have liked to have more action. I'll continue with this series, I hope it picks up.
