The original Dexter!

I am a huge Dexter fan. If you are discovering Dexter because of the TV show, you will be pleasantly surprised as the books do differ in the plot than the TV show!
Dexter is the serial killer you root for, as he tracks down really bad guys and disposes of them in a way the police cannot!

Dexter kills me!

These books are as enjoyable as the Showtime series! You really get into the head of this likeable serial killer!

Good read

A bit too much of Dexter's psychology and not enough development of, nor verisimilitude with, the other characters. Still a good read though, especially in between episodes of the tv show!

Read it then watch it

I read this and another of the Dexter books when I first saw commercials for the TV show. Thought the books were great. Cool idea for a character, a serial killer blood-spatter cop. Glad I read the books before watching the show because I like the show better.
