Building a Beautiful and Inexpensive Stone House humorously and intelligently

Proulx's book is a commendable educational tool for the building impaired. The concise diagrams, formulas and mathematical equations lend a prodigious hand to the reading comprehension impaired, also. Ergo, his humorous slant toward GWB seems almost to serve as a tutorial for the afore mentioned Mr. B. Plus, his humor also slants toward self deprecation, dispelling any intended bias. Then again, if I were to opt for a certain bias, it would openly choose the alleged bias the arid terrain abider accuses Proulx of using. Having read the book myself, I find that the author's use of satire, fact, historical and current events admirably exemplifies one who is highly educated; educated unto Master's degree status. And, speaking of adolescent writing: the word "veers" is spelled
V-E-E-R-S, not - heed to this, Arid Terrain Abider -
V-E-A-R-S. Intelligently, accurately challenging the foibles of irresponsible leaders without the uses of fantasy or vugarities is markedly not typical of adolescent thinking or writing. Furthermore, being a high school teacher, I recognize that his usage of polysyllabic vocabulary sqaushes the possibility of Proulx's being an adolescent. If one can read the book, and, as a result build a beautiful, inexpensive stone house, then Proulx has served his purpose. If the book causes a reader to guffaw at the satirical elements, then Proulx has succeeded in turning a very dry, terse subject into one of avid interest, pleasure and entertainment. Let's not be bullheaded about this. Excellent job! Great name, too.

Very Informative!!

I thought that the book gave very explicit information on the "how to" of building a stone house. The instructions given are on first hand knowledge of doing the project themselves. The quips of humor add a nice read to a project style book.
