"The Globalization of Racism" is a series of essays that range from scholarly and difficult to controversial and journalistic in style. Everything here seems well researched and documented. The contributing authors explore social conditions and political situations in their respective area of interest and experience, presenting case studies from all over the world. The result of this is a book that challenges our illusions about the advancement of civil rights in the modern world, focusing on America and the increase of xenophobia that has resulted from the War on Terror.

A useful and significant work for anyone who is interested in human rights, particularly activists and scholars. The publishers state the hope that this publication gives voice to disenfranchised peoples and causes everywhere. I think it does open the door in that direction. It's a good start.
