Best cookbook I've ever owned!!!
I absolutely love this cookbook! As a personal fitness trainer and mom trying to make
health
y fast
meals
that even my 3 year old son will like, it is a huge hit in our family!!! I tell all my clients this is a great book to help them keep on track with their nutrition goals. It has a permanent place on my kitchen counter and it starts many a conversations when
people
see it and ask, what is that? Do you like it?
What I love most is how it has the nutrition breakdown for you with every recipe, so you know exactly how many calories, carbs, protein, fiber, sugar, etc. you are getting. The recipes are simple and fast, and I've actually liked most every recipe I've tried. That's never happened before when I get a cookbook. It's usually just a few here and there. I also like how Zonya helps give you tips on organizing your cupboards, and has the shopping list of groceries for you so it really does help make it simple. I tell my clients all the time that good nutrition is simply a matter of planning ahead and time management. This book really helps show people that if you are willing to commit to making a few simple changes in your life, eating healthy can be possible and can fit into even the busiest person's life.

Best cookbook...possibly ever!!
This book is a godsend! With easy-to-find grocery items and step-by-step instructions it is foolproof! So far, everything I have made has passed the taste test in my home (2 adults and 2 kids under 4) with flying colors. I am encouraged to continue using this book because it has so many useful tips and everything is so
health
y for me and my family (even the breakfast cookies). I liked it so much I bought a copy for my sister.
Increase your health by wise eating
This book has delicious recipes to make a sensible choice to become
health
ier. The added bonus is that you will lose weight slowly and everyone knows that when you lose slowly by changing your eating habits, you are more likely to keep the weight off. Love this book.

Even my kids like it!
Not only do I *love* the recipes, but my five kids love them too!
The Nana Bread is one of my favorites!
Love Zonya on PBS, but her book is just okay
Zonya is energetic and inspirational on TV, but this book really isn't the best. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I like recipe books that have a traditional format. They need to be sturdy work horses. I like a book that's hard covered, and with either spiral or strongly bound pages. Zonya, made this book too cutsy! It has a funky fold out easel stand that's supposed to hold the book upright so a person can read the recipes. However, it stands too upright to view the recipes without bending over and holding your head at an akward angle. I don't like the way you have to flip the pages up to turn them, instead of turning them the way you turn most other books pages--from right to left. The cover is very flimsy. It's laminated, which is good, but it's very thin and shifts around a lot. The way the book is made, it doesn't stack or fit in well with all my other cookbooks on the shelf. The cover is too whimpy to keep it from sliding, shifting, and twisting under the pressure of my big work horse cookbooks.
Lickety
Split
looks completely overwhelmed next to my other cookbooks. I almost feel sorry for the little thing, as it sits there getting smooshed. Give me a tough, ugly, practical and useful brute any day!
As for the recipies, many of them are very fundamental and novice. I could think up throwing a can of corn, beans, chill powder and chopped onions together and topping the mixture with cornbread to make a casserole all by myself, without buying this book. Most of the recipies seem to be geared toward getting your kids to eat
health
y
meals
. If you're a busy Mom or Dad, this book my be useful. Several of the recipies do taste pretty good. That's why I gave it 3 stars. However, if you've been cooking healthy meals for awhile you probably won't find anything new here. The recipies may seem a bit blah, unsophisticated, and uncreative. Iron Chef material this isn't!
