What would it take to make you happy? A fulfilling career, a big bank account, or the perfect mate? What if it didn't take anything to make you happy? What if you could experience happiness from the inside out -- no matter what's going on in your life?

In Happy for No Reason: 7 Steps to Being Happy from the Inside Out, transformational expert Marci Shimoff offers a breakthrough approach to being happy, one that doesn't depend on achievements, goals, money, relationships, or anything else "out there." Most books on happiness tell you to find the things that make you happy and do more of them. Although there's nothing wrong with that, it won't bring you the kind of deep and lasting happiness most people long for -- the kind you'll never lose, no matter what happens in your life. Based on cutting-edge research and knowledge from the world's leading experts in the fields of positive psychology and neurophysiology, plus interviews with 100 truly happy people, this life-changing book provides a powerful, proven 7-step program that will enable you to be happier right now -- no matter where you start.

Studies show that each of us has a "happiness setpoint" -- a fixed range of happiness we tend to return to throughout our life -- that's approximately 50 percent genetic and 50 percent learned. In the same way you'd crank up the thermostat to get comfortable on a chilly day, you can actually raise your happiness set-point! The holistic 7-step program at the heart of Happy for No Reason encompasses Happiness Habits for all areas of life: personal power, mind, heart, body, soul, purpose, and relationships.

In these pages you'll discover moving and remarkable first-person stories of people who have applied these steps to their own lives and have become Happy for No Reason. You'll read phenomenal tales from a former drug dealer turned minister, a hit filmmaker, and a famous actress who escaped a "family curse," as well as stories from doctors, mothers, teachers, and business executives. You'll learn practical strategies that will help you experience happiness from the inside out.

You don't have to have happy genes, win the lottery, or lose twenty pounds. By the time you finish this book, you will know how to experience sustained happiness for the rest of your life.

Fun to Read , Enlightening Too!

Happy for No Reason is delightful. It evoked many smiles and much gratitude for all that I have in my life! As I read on, amazingly, there was a shift away from self judgement and criticism. The author led me to a place where I could enjoy my birthright and embrace it with enthusiasm, gentleness and levity. The seven steps to a lifestyle of consistent well being and generosity have a magic that goes beyond her words, an inspiration that lifts one up just by being open to infinite possibilities. This book itself is an act of generosity! I highly recommend it and also suggest Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment by Ariel and Shya Kane. Both truly inspirational and enlightening books to have on your shelf!

Loved the Personal Stories

Easy reading showing you how to be happy by using your belief system, setting goals and following your passions. The stories reinforce all this. The are other books similar to this on The Law of Attraction by achieving happiness through believing it now and attracting the same. I recommend Living The Secret Everyday: My Secret Workbook will show you how to obtain happiness.

Money can buy the instructions to happiness

I believe that ultimately what we all seek is happiness. After we work through our desires, goals, and life choices this is what we are looking for. What this book teaches is how to be truly happy for no reason, it is just the way you are. It is not about externals or circumstances, it is about a choice in behaviors and beliefs so it comes from the inside.
You will learn how to construct a happy life through taking ownership of your happiness, controlling your reactions to your thoughts, making love a priority in your life, leading a healthy lifestyle, being spiritual, following your passions to find your purpose, and having healthy relationships.
The book is the best of the many books I have read on happiness, covering all the needed areas. What I really love about it, is that it is not just a bunch of the authors opinions like so many other books on happiness are. It is a collaborative book with many authors input on why they are happy, and it is based on interviews the author conducted with the "Happy 100". These were people that were beacons of happiness in their daily lives. It is also based on science and the brain. You will get all the information you need to change habits in your life and start down a path that will make you more happy each day as you change from being unhappy to simply being happy for no reason, it will just be the way you are. After reading this book I am already much more happy than ever before in my life. I want to thank Marci Shimoff for her gift, it is worth far more than the price of a book.
You will only get the value of this book if you are ready to accept the message it offers. I would ignore any negative reviews.

very uplifting!

I purchased this book after reading many favourable reviews. Happy to say, I wasn't disappointed! It is beautifully written, and gives a useful summary of several of the best happiness-inducing teachings available. Perhaps what really makes this book a winner are the personal stories interwoven throughout the chapters. Many of these are very moving and help readers to see the path to happiness on the level of emotions. Well worth reading!

Raise the Temperature of Your Happiness Barometer!

This book gives you down to earth, practical and almost instantaneous techniques that you can do to raise the temperature of your happiness barometer. You will be pleasantly surprised to know that there are scientific results to back up this author's claims that we can all be a lot happier if we just put our minds to it. This book does not disappoint!
