"Reinventing the Right" is a compendium of essays which brilliantly applies America?s founding principles to the most pressing issues our nation currently faces. Clearly and thoughtfully written by some of the brightest among a generation of young Americans, this book argues that conservatism?s ongoing relevance is inextricably tied to its adherence to the ideas of our Founders ? including the rule of law, equality of opportunity, and a fundamental respect for individual liberty. These ideas fueled America?s meteoric rise to greatness. Their power, the authors conclude, can propel her to new heights once again. The result is a first of its kind articulation of the power of conservatism written for and by the generation that will bear its standard in the 21st Century! Contributors: John Amble, Christian Camerota, Jesse Davis, Devin Foley, Brett Gibson, Melissa Anne Hayes, John Katsos, Austin Knuppe, Bryan Jiral, Richard Lorenc, Matt Obenhaus, Adam Oszustowicz, Andrew Sung, Chris Tiedeman, Patrick Wetherille, Robert Wheeler, Paloma Zepeda.

You might be surprised.

What do you think of when you hear the term "the right?" Chances are many of your current ideas will be dispelled by this book. Reinventing the Right will give you an understanding of not only what young conservatives and libertarians in America are thinking, but why. I wrote the chapter on the right to bear arms--Disarmed Is Dangerous--which features an explanation of why minorities--African Americans and gay people among them--should not be afraid to embrace tools they can use for their own protection. It also tackles the marketing challenges of the pro-Second Amendment movement. Besides that, my friend Melissa Anne Hayes penned a wonderful piece on why it's inappropriate and unjust for government to dictate any aspect of adult interpersonal relationships, specifically the right to enter into a contract (marriage or civil union). Limited government, as Melissa writes, is a conservative principle, and its reach should be extremely limited (or perhaps nonexistent) when it comes to the partnerships of two consenting adults. Whether you're a liberal, conservative, libertarian or something else, you'll learn something new from this book.

Great Book for the New Generation

This is great for anyone who is looking for a new take on modern problems by applying American, conservative principles to them. Though it's long, the short essays make it a pretty quick read and great for anyone interested in American politics.

"Reinventing the Right" reinvented how I think about politics. Every chapter is a different policy issue written by a different specialist; I learned something new in every chapter. The articles are interesting and founded in our founding fathers' theories on government. If you're looking for one book to teach you how the founding fathers would address all of today's major political issues, this is the book for you!

Reinventing the Right

Young people are treated to too much liberalism in college and this book will help to moderate that influence. A good read for adults of any age. Well thought out and well-written.
