A Masterpiece!!

River: The Joni Letters is a phenomenal record! Not only is the instrumentation and orchestration of Joni Mitchell's songs in a jazz context well thought and beautifully played - it was mixed and mastered better than any jazz record i've heard in the past decade! the fullness of sound, and quality of that sound, is what really makes me fall in love with this record, let alone Herbie's phenomenal playing under the sensual lyrics of Joni. Its a remarkable fusion of two worlds coming together with great finesse! All performers and guest singers gave top notch performances! MUST GET IF YOU LOVE GREAT CREATIVE/ARTISTIC MUSIC!!

This is a wonderful surprise from Mr. Hancock and Joni. I was very fortunate to see both of them (seperate times) in concert and this captured the brilliance of both!

Great CD for Mitchel and Hancock fans

A nice tribue to Joni Mitchell done only the way Herbie Handcock could do it. Starting with Laura Jones playing "Court and Spark" you get the sense that this in not only good but good for you.

Good stuff

Herbie Hancock returns with a good performance and in nice way with the good stuff of godess Jony Mitchell. Congratulations Herbie.

Lot of contemplation & lot of respect

Hancock really shows his complex side with this CD. He also demonstrates a respect for Joni. Great music, interesting, some very challenging.
