It won't totally let you go after watching it....
I saw this the first time after good critical reviews. I thought it was a good movie the first time but not one of the best I have ever seen. Then about 3 months went by and I somehow wanted to watch it again. Some of my favorite movies are ones I dismissed as fine at first. I bought the HD DVD of it and watched it a second time and just realized how GOOD this film really is. Clive Owen plays a perfect "every day hero" and Michael Caine turns in a funny yet heart warming, hippy performance.
Alfonso Cuaron's directing, vision and non-cut editing style make this film a beautiful winner (not to

tion the amazing non-stop scene where Clive Owen goes through the building in the end of the movie). The film's look is fantastic on HD. The cinematography, editing, art direction and music all blend well and are top notch. Just a fantastic film that won't totally let you go after watching it.

A Dark, Interesting Look at the Future
Great film about a possible future for mankind where wo

- and the population is dying off. A very frightening scenario and with solid performances, particularly by Clive Owen. The opening scene sets the mood for the movie- all in one shot- and is brilliantly directed by Alfonso Cuaron. A thoughtful, intense, raw movie that builds to a powerful but hopeful ending.
Fascinating, until the end
This movie had an interesting concecpt. What if the world could no longer produce babies? And it did a fine job of portraying the effects. Though there really wasn't any type of explanation as to WHY no one could conceive any more. Visually, the movie is gorgeous. Its crazy and bleak all at the same time. Clive Owen gave a perfect performance. However, I have a major gripe with the ending. No spoilers here. But I mean, it just ended. And what? It sort of just leaves you hanging without hope or expectations. It jarred me from the otherwise brilliant film.
