Rod Serling surprises us as the readers and viewers. (We read the teleplay.) After going into big combat he comes back and starts writing weird science fiction books and stuff that is out of the world stuff. In the book Monsters are Due On Maple Street the neighborhood scares me. It is not like all the neighborhoods they are too friendly and nice.I feel that the neighborhood is way weird. It is not like a regular neighborhood not by a mile. It scares me because like they are all nice and stuff. I don't see any neighborhood that nice or friendly no way. The book's narrator describes it as "A tree-lined little world of front porch gliders, hopscotch, the laughter of children and bell of an Ice cream vendor." (668) Whoa! Hold it there! That is a little too nice the way I think it should be is like this. There should be a 13 year old girl fighting with her older bro in the front yard some strange guy in a filed with his friends riding in a 4 wheeler, a mom's car that never turns off because she runs her little daughter back and forth from dance basketball gymnastics and girl scouts, then like 10 boys playing paintball, and to top it off 10 kids running around on the street why the mom and dads yells at them to get off the road. I think this book is way out of the ordinary it is like not right there are people that probably don't know what a alien is. These people are old and have no clue what aliens are that is weird. The movie was out of the ordinary and I'm not joking. The screen was black, white and gray that is old and weird. The actors don't know what they are supposed to say it is bad acting. They are like in an angle where you don't see the details. The movie is just weird like the characters. I think the should trough all those tapes away and make another one with color, more acting aspearmints, better actors, good angles and all the other stuff I said.I think this book is confusing. I am not joking! For little kids how are they supposed to under stand this book and video? Like how they keep accusing every on and the order and stuff. I mean like who was accused to be the alien and stuff first. I mean that was hard to understand who was accused and who wasn't accused. That is what happened to me and I was so confused because I was like who is who and why were they accused. I mean if I couldn't understand the order and stuff how are little kids suppose to under stand it?I learnt a lot from this book that I could use in my own writing like how to not make it so hard to understand like they made it be I mean that was confusing. I also learnt that if u write like they did and had who is talking in bold print I think it helps a little better like if I was reading one kind of like Night or Ponyboy. I mean if it was in that kind of writing then I would not understand it I am glad that they put it like that.I thought this book was pretty good except the parts that I said I didn't like. I think that little kids like from grade k-4 or maybe even 5th grade should nit read this because it is confusing. I think they would like to read it because of all the aliens, and all the conclusions and of all the weirdness but I think it is to hard for them to under stand. I liked this book overall I kind of liked the video but I think it should be more realest.
