Excellent read

I first heard the author last August during a TV interview. I was impressed because the points he made rang true to what I was seeing but not what the "experts" were saying. I bought the book, read it, and I enjoyed it very much. I now have a much better grasp on what's going on (e.g. oil prices going up, inflation, etc.) and I have made changes to my own financial portfolio which are playing out very well.

I highly recommend the book to anyone who wants to learn more about what is really happening in the US economy and I would encourge them to visit his website for more helpful info.

Peter Schiff is a modern day savior for Americans. Those who believe in him will find salvation. Just go to U-tube and download all the archived Peter schiff news archives from the past several years, and you'll see that this man has a knack for calling things correctly. I've been following him for several months and he has made me thousands of dollars (I took his advice and invested in gold and overseas stocks). His book is extremely easy to understand and speaks volumes about our current situation. Time is running out, you must read this book ASAP and take steps NOW if you want to have any spending power in the near future.

Excellent resource for America's financial future

This is a great book for those looking for an introduction of where the US economy is, how it got there, and where it is likely to go in the near future.

To clarify Peter Schiff's view of hyperinflation in the US, in real terms there is actually going to be deflation. In terms of gold, our assets are going to be worth less and less. In terms of inflated dollars, asset prices will likely rise or stay stagnant (obviously this wont happening with commodities). An excellent example of this thus far is the housing market. While real estate prices remain relatively constant due to dollar inflation and fed intervention, in terms of gold these assets have fallen off a cliff. The reason dollar deflation happened during the initial crash of the great depression was because assets at that time were still valued in gold, not paper. This time around, the fed isn't restricted by a silly thing like gold, and will likely try to print its way out of a depression untill dollars are completely worthless.

Yes, there was good information on the economy, and I learned some important lessons, like having cash and no debt in these hard times, but I got so sick of his sales pitches to buy his international funds that I felt like he should have paid me to read the book.
