review from 12 year old homeschooler

this book absolutely blew me away. i was scared, shocked, and rolling on the floor laughing out loud-sometimes all at the same time! i felt like i was sitting right next to reynie and the rest of the mysterious benedict society as they climbed walls, ran from executives, and solved the mystery surrounding the institute. if you love adventure, mystery, and laugh out loud humor then the mysterious benedict society is the book for you.

A great read, rich with some good values encouraged

The Mysterious Benedict Society began as an evening read aloud that we found ourselves pulling out to read over breakfast or after school. Not only was there suspense from chapter to chapter but the descriptions were rich. The values underscored in this book are important ones - teamwork, the importance of loyalty, the need to belong and the value of seeking truth. As a subtext, the resolution of the childrens' orphan circumstances affirmed both the significance and importance of birth family and the love and commitment that accompanies adoption. We are eagerly awaiting the next book !

My daughter loved it.

Is it really relevant if an adult doesn't like this book? Or doesn't think it "delivers" on its promise? My 10-year-old daughter was given this book and was completely absorbed from page 1. It's one of those books she tried to sneak read at the dinner table. At the end she announced that she "can't live without" having the next one. My daughter reads a lot (esp. Harry Potter) so it really says something when a book captivates her this much.

THE BEST BOOK!!!

This is the best book ever! Everybody in my family loved it.
The book is about 4 children, each with their own talents, who are sent on a secret mission to spy on a man. The man, Ledroptha Curtain, is trying to destroy the world with his invention, the Whisperer. Curtain runs a school on an island to try to get more people to be like him. Nobody knows about his plans. The children attend the school and act like all the others to find out all they can about Curtain. When they discover that he is planning is to destroy the world as soon as possible they have to hurry.
Will the Mysterious Benedict Society make it in time? You find out!
Anybody and everybody will love this book. It is full of puzzles, riddles and much more. You wish the book will never end.
