the spoken word
I agree with other reviewers that this book is even better than Power of Now, a book which definitely had an impact on my life view. The ideas here are presented more compactly and seem to go to a deeper level. For instance, there was a lot about the pain body in PON which didn't always sink in for me but here it is presented more in the context of "you are not your thoughts," which seems more the essential truth rather than someone's conceptualization. Mr. Tolle's ideas are very consistent with the Buddha's teachings but somehow more easily graspable. I highly recommend the audio version of this book. Listening while I'm driving has served as a daily reminder not to get lost in the trance of thought, a habit that takes some effort to overcome.

Stillness Speaks
After reading this book, I have become a lot more aware of how much power we all have. I am certain that, together, we can change the direction our planet is headed. No complicated formula is needed. I've learned to simply make a conscious effort at being the best person I can be, right "NOW" (wherever, whatever,or whomever I may be involved with)is enough. I finally understand what "Judgement" and "Surrender" mean! Like most people, I always thought I would have to enter some austere practice, in order to consciously honor such terms in my everyday life. Also, it felt so good to hear Mr. Tolle affirm that everything, from rocks to rocking chairs are ALIVE and connected. This reading has put me more deeply in touch with the "Universal Love" frequency. The
stillness
I find in my daily life, has become a thing to cherish, rather than fear. I recommend "STILLNESS
SPEAKS
" to all who want to understand and gracefully navigate their way into the new paradigm.

Simplicity, Stillness and Answers
I love the simplicity of this book. There's a lot that gives insight into what inner
stillness
is, so that ego can take a back seat, and inner calm even amid external chaos can take the place of the chattering mind that usually sends us into inner chaos.
The wisdom of Tolle is rare, and this is one of the few books that I've read that reached me in a manner that made a difference. I also suggest this book with Tolle's "Practicing the Poewer of Now" they make a great pair!
Powerful guidance from the higher self
I find the audio version of this book amazing. The depth of wisdom and guidance is brillant and beautiful.
A great guide to pointing you back to your original nature.

Stillness Speaks
The second most powerful book I have read in the last 30 years. Everyone needs to read this book if they want to understand how to live life in a state of peace and joy.
