TurboTax Review

This is the third year in a row that I have used TurboTax to complete taxes. It is easy to use and helps to find the most deductions. One nice feature is that it asks to automatically check for updates to the tax code from the Internet. You can complete your taxes electronically or by printing the forms out and mailing them in. I have been very satisfied with this product.

Solid as always

This product is always solid and easy to use. Unfortunately it also has an unnecessay collection of special offers that waste your time.

Taking the Customer for Granted

I've been a user of TurboTax for more years than I can remember. My impression is that the TurboTax people have run out of fresh ideas. The cost of the product keeps going up and now e-filing isn't included.

There are a lot of supposed improvements, but these appear to me to be more "eye-candy" rather than real improvements. And the cost of this stuff only supports raising prices.

I can't say the competitors have better products. In fact, I'll probably continue to use the TurboTax system because changing is more difficult than just putting up with the subtle lack of meaningful context-specific assistance while being inundated by loads of marginally relevant "help".

TurboTax management - return to an efficient product at a reasonable price. Exactly what is so expensive about providing e-filing that you should now be charging so much for the extra service? Is this your cash cow, like printer ink is to the makers of inkjet printers? I think so.
