I love this book!
(Eat, Pray, Love) is a really wonderful book about the personal spiritual journey of the author., Elizabeth Gilbert. The story starts simply enough: she is unhappy and wants more from life. She embarks on a worldwide journey to Italy, India and Indonesia in hope of finding true happiness and fulfillment.
I am touched by her generous spirit in sharing this deeply personal story about herself and feel her book is an opportunity for all of us to look inward and find our own happiness and spiritual essence. I was moved by how she persevered on her journey despite what others might have thought of her choices. I was also inspired that she eventually found what she was looking for.
This is a very special book that I intend to share with others as I believe Elizabeth Gilbert (author) has written a story that can be read and appreciated by Tutti (Indonesian for everyone!). There are brilliant insights in this book that reminded me of other authors that I have read and loved, Ariel and Shya Kane. I am an avid reader of their books including Being Here, Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment; Working on Yourself Doesn't Work and How to Create a Magical Relationship. These books also provide insight into how to have a wonderful and fulfilling life. I love to share these books with people and highly recommend them. The Kanes have a wonderful, spiritual voice with which they teach the reader in very simple and beautiful terms how one can live one's life simply and fully. One's spiritual journey can occur in other countries as Elizabeth's did or by living in the present moment, the "instantaneous transformation" that the Kanes write about.
very insightful
Loved this book when I purchased it for myself a few months ago, and this purchase was for a friend.
Funny, Smart Book!
I loved this book!
She writes in a style that is profound and makes you think, all the while being like you are just talking to your best girlfriend! This book made me laugh out loud several times! She writes things in just the most perfect, yet conversational way.
It was very interesting to learn about both her journey in life and through the foreign countries I will never be able to visit.
I thought her insights were amazing, and her year off was very well spent. I can't wait for her next book!
Enjoyable and enlightening
Who wouldn't want to take a year off to indulge your deapest passions. This book was an enjoyable read and a great summer read. The author shares some deep introspection of a year on the road, writing with humor and eye towards detail.
