Angels fly high
This is the soundtrack to own, this was a classic right
from
the start, this soundtrack ended up producing 4 hits and becoming one of the biggest soundtracks of all time. The soundtrack started of with U2's "If God Would Send His
Angels
" which was a mild hit but the next 3 songs really made this album something really special, first came "Iris" from Goo Goo Dolls which became a monster of a hit for the guys, then came my two favorites from this album, "Uninvited" from Alanis Morissette this was so well written and you can feel and hear that Alanis wrote this song directly for this album, and finally the tearjerking and heartbreaking "Angel" from Sarah Mclachlan(this song is also found on her album "Surfacing", this was one of the biggest song for Sarah, much like what "Iris" did for the Goo Goo Dolls. I even feel that they would have been safe releasing Paula Cole's song "Feelin' Love", but once again this album is just a pleasure to own and listen to.

Superb Soundtrack
I heard the soundtrack before I saw the movie. And the soundtrack was still phenomenal. These are songs that you fall in love with on the first listen, and fall deeper as you listen to it over and over again. I was mesmerized by the U2 song, "If God Will Send His
Angels
". The soundtrack is solid, through and through,
from
the opening U2 song to the three Top 40 hits by Alanis Morrisette ("Uninvited"), Sarah McLachlan ("Angel"), and Goo Goo Dolls ("Iris"), as well as songs by artists that I'd never heard of, like Peter Gabriel and Jude, to Gabriel Yared's score of the movie, which is pretty amazing. The Hendrix song ("Red House"), John Lee Hooker song, Eric Clapton song, and those songs, they were indeed out of place on the CD, which was a sountrack to a heartbreaking movie with heartbreaking tunes. But modern technology allows us to program what we want to listen to on a CD, so I'm not complaining too much. They are great songs, nonetheless, just completely out of place. (on a side note, Eric Clapton's song should not have been "Tears in Heaven", out of propriety: The song was a tribute to Clapton's baby son, who had died when he was like four or five. "Would you know my name... would you hold my hand..." are more heartbreaking when you realize it's a father asking his dead son if the baby would even remember his daddy who loved him so much, just because he never got to spend any time with him, because the baby was so young and because Clapton was never there for him.) But nonethless, it is the best thirteen bucks I have spent in a long while, and doubtlessly the best soundtrack since the Lion King.

Incredible Soundtrack
The
music
on this CD is incredible.
From
U2s "If God Will Send His
Angels
" to Sarah MacLachlans soft and beautiful "Angel" to Alanis Morrisettes inspiring "Uninvited" to Goo Goo Dolls "Iris" this soundtrack is filled with awesome songs and incredible music. This soundtrack is very eclectic and well worth buying.
A Good one!
This has become one of the most successful soundtracks ever, and I think nearly everyone would enjoy this CD. It includes three big radio hits - Alanis Morissette's "Uninvited," "Iris" by the Goo Good Dolls, and "Angel," by Sarah McLachlan. They are all three good songs. I also liked the U2 song, "If God Would Send His
Angels
." The surprise stand-out was the Paula Cole song, "Feelin' Love" - a wonderfully lusty song. The score material at the end is also pretty. This album is very good, and a soundtrack essential to any collection.

Heaven's Gate..
The movie was sappy-sweet but enjoyable and making it most enjoyable was the soundtrack, listening to it straight out without seeing the flick makes the flow hard to understand, JL Hookers tune and Claptons tune don't seem to fit in this soul-wrenching album.
From
the opening U2- to Yareds closings, all
music
to sear your core. Gotta mention the favorite Peter Gabriel-I Grieve.. *moment of silence* phenominal.. An excellent soundtrack.. Would like to give it a five.. but the few tunes that just didn't seem to fit throw off the continuity of the CD.
