Awesome Parenting

This book gives great examples of every day situations that happen to EVERY parent. The concepts taught in the book are VERY easy to apply to your children and remember in the heat of the moment. My daughter is one and I feel like using the ideas in this book are setting us up for a successful toddlerhood.

I LOVE Love and Logic!!! I was made aware of Love and Logic after my mom's 5th grade school in TX started a L&L program and soon after my cousin in WI called and her HS also adopted L&L. They were both surprised at how the kids responded and encouraged me to try it.

I bought the book and started the techniques immediately and within a week I saw a change in my 2yr old and in myself! Things were calmer, the struggles dissipated, I felt more confident as a parent, and my son was making lots of choices everyday and feeling in-control. With L&L you can communicate with your kids without having to raise your voice or give the evil eye. They know you mean it when you say it. The book tells you exactly what to say and why. It is great!

Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood: Practical Parenting from Birth to Six Years

This is a great book for a parent who is tired of repeating himself/herself. This "way of parenting" is an adjustment, but DOES work. I have children that are 5, 3, and 1. I really felt that the book tells you how to handle children at different stages in their lives. Even my older kids say to my 1 year old, "Uh-oh! Looks like some bedroom time!" There is some humor in this book, that can only make you feel human! I think this whole series is wonderful. I do wish their were "Cliff Notes" for this, for I am always referencing what to do in a particular situation.

A few ideas are a little "out there"

When you are raising children I hardly think you have time to call a restaurant ahead of time to arrange a "time out" place to take your child if they are misbehaving. Some ideas are good, some just seem a little weird.
