Great for the price
I bought this because I can not afford a large flat screen TV. It has far exceeded my expectations for the price it cost (especially with the rebate). The only draw back is that I can only watch it at dusk/night. But if I had better window shades I am sure I could use it during the day.
Granted its not going to be as clear/sharp as a $[...]+
projector
, but it does a great job for an entry level home theater. It is very very quiet, and there is hardly any difference between normal & eco-bulb saving mode.
If you're on the fence and don't have an additional $[...], I would recommend this projector.

Great projector
This
projector
is easy to figure out how to use - I use it for power point presentations, some of which keep the projector on for 8+hours at a time. It performs very well and has a crystal clear image!
It's better than I thought
This
projector
is better than I thought. The only thing I wish it had was a zoom feature, but for the price I can deal without it.
Exceeded My Expectations
I bought this to do presentations becase my boss won't buy me one. So I was going on the cheap when it comes to my own money. I was expecting some barely servicable unit for the price. I was very pleasantly surprised. It actually have 3 preset brightness settings, which helps to preserve the bulb. It is sharp and totally awsome on the brightest setting. The lack of zoom means I had to reposition the unit around the room, but it's not that bad. I never used it for movies, so I am not sure how good it is for that. I would probably invest on a higher end model for movies. I would never buy a movie
projector
or TV that is not 1080p in this day and age. But for powerpoint, this unit does a good job. The only reason I did not give it a higher score is for the lack of zoom function.

ViewSonic Projector PJ503D DLP
For the price, the PJ503D
DLP
appears to be a nice
projector
. Good value. I have only used it a few times so far, however find the quality is decent and fairly easy to use. The biggest drawback is the remote it comes with. I thought the remote would be able to forward the screen shots, PowerPoint slides etc, instead ... the remote is for adjusting the picture/screen. I thought this was strange and am hoping I am just missing something, however I looked through the users guide several times and also asked 2 other people to do the same. None of us could find anything that stated the remote could be used for slide forwarding. So, if this is an important feature for you, I suggest finding a different projector. If you don't mind not having this feature, and prefer to save a little, it's a good buy.
