Cheap and fun

I ordered one of these just to mess with the cat and it does that perfectly. For roughly $25 I really dont see how anyone can complain. Yes they are made pretty cheaply but they do work if you are patient. I had to rig some weight to the end of pin stuck into the nose to get mine to fly forward. I own a gas powered RC heli as well as several RC airplanes and I still have fun with this thing.

So easy to fly that even I, a Private Pilot, can fly it.

A word of advice. This may be a toy but it needs to be properly operated. Breakage is very easy with things that fly. The harder it crashes, the more it gets broke. I would consider it get great way to start training your future budding pilot. But then I'm just a crabby old man.

Great heli for less than $30!

Spinmaster Air Hogs Havoc Heli (Colors May Vary)

I sympathize with the kid who never got to fly, but this thing come SECURELY taped down fore and aft. I've had this thing for less than a day and I have to admit I've been hard on it. The controls are VERY sensitive, surprisingly so for such a small heli. I've crashed more than a dozen times (I stopped counting) and it still flies!

When I was a kid my mother told me that if I got my money's worth out of something I bought then it was a good value. I consider this to be a good value, but I would only recommend it for older kids and adults!

I kept reading about short battery life, this is a relative thing. If you follow the directions and let the battery cool down for at least 10 minutes before recharging then a full charge will last about 8 minutes!

Slow charging time? 20 to 25 minutes!

Sure, control is difficult. What do you expect? This is NOT some high dollar radio-controlled precision helicopter, it's an inexpensive IR controlled TOY!

Entertaining

For the price of this little toy, it provided my husband and friends with lots of laughter and entertainment. It hasn't fallen apart despite the fact that it has been flown into furniture a few times. Incredible resilience considering it is made of light styrofoam!

Why test pilots earn high praise

My seven year old nephew received a Spinmaster Air Hogs Havoc Heli as a Christmas present. The maiden voyage of the heli ended up in the neighbor's backyard; a backyard secured by a rather large Doberman. The heli did not demonstrate sufficient damage tolerance to sustain the loads applied by the closure of a large dog's jaws upon the vehicle's structure.

The replacement heli, purchased through Amazon.com, now has a restricted flight path (i.e., flights over the neighbor's backyard are prohibited). It has accrued signicantly greater flight time than the first heli. My nephew reports that he's having lots of fun flying the heli.
