Out of all the bad movies, a great one
With global warming no one seems to think of the other
possible future effects of pollution.
A well acted, well staged, well filmed future.
I think this film is timely and has meaning.
People tearing themselves apart for no real reason.
Hate ruling lives and making a mess of everything.
We have to consider there may someday be a last human child.
the best movie i have seen in months...ignored by oscars...
i missed this film on the big screen, but caught it on cable, and it was one of the best movies i have seen in a long time...better than "atone
men
t" or "no country for old men", i loved this movie...it was really ignored by the academy and it deserves more recognition...it is close to a perfect movie...it blends action, drama, comedy, sci-fi, and suspense very well...it is fantasy, and offers relevant social commentary at the same time...it also offers some spiritual context to be considered.

Children of Men is a 5 Star Film, Especially in HD!
I was really impressed with this movie. Great story, great scripting, excellent execution, and terrific editing. This is a 5 star film that anyone will love. The score is amazing too. My only complaint is that if you're expecting to see Julianne Moore play a big role in the movie, she doesn't.
Love it. Buy it if you haven't.
Great British apocalyptic drama
This is a great movie with tons of future shock mo
men
ts and incredibly believable settings and acting. I especially like the fact that it's an apocalyptic film taking place in Britain; it's the first one I'm aware of. This makes for some awesome moments like the "The world has collapsed...Only Britain soldiers on" video bit. If you're up for a big movie night or weekend, I suggest a "Future/Alternate Britain" theme with the following movies:
Children
of Men, Brazil an...(read more)d Love Actually (probably the best movie about England ever made). If you want you can substitute the less depressing 12 Monkeys for Brazil -- although 12 Monkeys mostly takes place in the U.S., the theme is very similar to Children of Men. Or hell ,just watch all four, a double shot of Terry Gilliam never did anyone any harm!

Adaptation of P. D. James' Classic is Bereft of Heart., 2 Sep 2007
Plot:
Britain in 2027 is under totalitarian govern
men
t with a regime under control of the militia. The world is on the brink of collapse because no
children
have been born for 18 years. Theo (Owen) agrees to escort a refugee to safety, but soon finds his life is in danger from both government and revolutionaries...
My Review:
"The future's a thing of the past." This the main tag-line given to a film that endeavours and doesn't quite succeed in depicting P. D. James' interpretation of the future where Mankind is dying and facing complete extinction. This film makes the point astoundingly that the idea of it being the future, may seem far more backward then we have come to expect.
What this piece does is recall the dustily depicted utopia that has become downfallen. Children Of Men takes the action movie conventions and twists them so much that its hard to recognise, it recalls the sporadic virtues of a satire, as the bemused main character Theo (Clive Owen) begins his adventure, conflicting and smashing from odd encounters to the next.
Amid the brilliantly executed explosions true filmmaking is exposed in one superlative tracking shot that covers a mini-siege in Bexhill. This may be the only good part of the film.
Dir. Cuarón has done something not incredible, but satisfactory. Cuarón's film is provocative, flowing with rich ideas and invention but never too conceited to stop and crack jokes.
Verdict:
Amazing and visually stunning in its own satire, however, not welcoming to the stunning work of P.D James. 7.5/10. Barren plot, with intense action.
