I purchased and used for 2 years Frontpage, but it is not a real wysiwyg editor. Then I used another one, which was terrible (I will not give you the name, because I hate to even mention that name) The I purchased Sitespinner, which was perfect. I wrote a simple site and had it running in less then 2 hours. You will be able to design very sophisticated web sites in next to no time. It has very good tutorials along with an excellent support forum where you can learn as much as you want. Why spend more money on other more expensive programs? This is all you need. This program is a bargain for the price they charge. After 2 years I got a message that there was a new upgrade, which I could donwload for free. I wanted to establish a web site for my private tennis club that would serve as a sales tool for new members and an information resource for existing members. I did not want to write HTML code so a WYSIWYG utility was top on my list. I tried a number of programs and they either lacked functionality or wanted to bring me to editing HTML code. Free would be nice, but you get what you pay for. I've learned that more than once. The club is non-profit so money was an issue, nonetheless. After trying CoffeeCup and the IE product (others were too expensive) I did a web search and found SiteSpinner. The program comes with templates and I found it very easy to use during the trial period. The website was up and running in no time. The internal FTP client works like a charm. The program is very intuitive to the unintiated but you can easily discern that it has some powerful capabilities. Our website (http://httennis.net) is in its second year. The SiteSpinner User Forums are a great resource both in terms of the developer participation and the FAQ's that cover most common topics. If the topic isn't covered in the archives, the answer is usually one hour away. You need to design and build a website. There are lots of ways to build one, from hand-coding in HTML to FrontPage to Dreamweaver to Fusion to ... Why is SiteSpinner so great? I'll try to give an analogy. Have you ever built an org chart in M/S Word? It's certainly possible, since one can create lines, boxes, and text in Word. But no one would do it, simply because Word is focused on text processing, not on free-form graphic manipulation. You'd probably use PowerPoint instead, right? Well, the same thing goes for webpage authoring. You could use FrontPage, which is very Word-like (meaning: cumbersome). Or you could use SiteSpinner, which looks and feels much like Powerpoint. Want a box here? Done. Want some text over there? Done. Change something else? Done. It's that easy. SiteSpinner is not limited to simple stuff. You can get as elaborate as you want, and can also insert chunks of HTML or Javascript code for special functions. This is a very clever program, and a bargain for the price they charge.
