Finally, Relief For Frustrated Parents!

As the mother of two kids, and a best selling author whose written a book, Learning vs Testing: Strategies That Bridge the Gap, very much in the same style as Hal's, I'm so relieved to see this remarkable new book.

Hal talks about checking your into your own parenting style, responding rather than lightening fast reacting, and simple ways any parent can be more relaxed, while being a better parent.

I could't agree with him more. As I wrote Learning vs Testing, I knew that so many parents unknowingly make assumptions, such as their kids are lazy and unmotivated when it comes to school or homework hassles, when a quick learning styles or visual/perceptual check revealed their child had undiagnosed learning issues.

Hal's Screamfree Parenting book, along with the classic, How To Talk So Kids Will Listen, are two of the best and most effective I've ever seen, giving truly sane advice in what sometimes seems like an insane world - parenting.

Fabulous CD Set

We have loved listening to these CD's. They have really helped us as parents to "keep our cool". I would recommend this information to every parent. Wonderful!

Great resource for parents of children at any age

I really enjoyed listening to these CD's on a recent car trip. The author had some great points that I can incorporate into my own parenting. The CD's uplift you to becoming a more calm and in control parent. They also remind you of how important it is raise children who can become independent of their parents. I also like how they talk about talking care of yourself as a parent, so that you can be there for your children.

Good advice, especially for parents of older kids

Good resource for how to handle ones emotions when dealing with ones kids. However, only caveat is for parents of toddlers and preschoolers like me, there isn't enough hands on tools for dealing with these ages, before they can understand.

Good Philosophy, But Hard to Implement

I agree with the author about not screaming at your children. However, I wish he had given more examples of natural consequences and ways to discipline your children.
