Unbelievable and believable...
The author spins quite the
tale
! It's a thoroughly enjoyable, light and easy read. Once you start it, you won't want to put it down.
The story is so silly. I remember thinking to myself, "this is nuts," a number of times as I was reading along. But the story is so compelling that they author makes you think that maybe, just maybe, the kookie people in the story really do exist, out there, somewhere...
Be prepared: you will laugh out loud.
The Best of Christopher Moore
I listed to this book as an audio book and had to almost pull off the road several times because I was laughing so hard. I love Christopher Moore books, but this one is my favorite.

Awesome!
I already own a copy of this book, however I purchased this new one for my friend. I would share this book, and anything else written by Christopher Moore, with anyone who was interested!
Not the typical holiday books
As the author says up front, this is NOT the typical
Christmas
book of good cheer.
Bizarre is only the beginning. This book is only my second Christopher Moore book (A Dirty Job was the first), so I have no background for many of the other characters even though they have been in Moore's other books.
I love that they love each other (well, almost) in spite of their faults and frailties. In that that way it's traditional, otherwise, all bets are off!
The ending was a little rushed and pat, which is the reason for the 4 not 5 rating, but in the Christmas spirit, I'll let it go.
