Mansfield Park

Although I enjoyed the film. So much was cut out of the film, because it was cut from 3 hours to one of 1 1/2 hours.

But, it was a very entertaining movie.

So disappointing

With this version being only 90 minutes long, anyone familiar with Jane Austen's Mansfield Park will recognize that it can't possibly do justice to her story. And it assuredly does not. It is more like an outline of her story. The old 1986 BBC version, though hardly perfect, is still the best.

Another one

The reason Mansfield Park is so difficult to put on film is that there are in fact multiple plotlines, more so than in any other Austen novel, and an adaptation for film requires some degree of truncation. That happened here too.
