My Favorite Comedy Film

They must hurry and put this out on DVD! I have recommended this film to countless friends/family as THE funniest 'slice of life movie about a typical NY Italian family'. Some of the lines and situations will definitely hit home with ANYone who has struggled with dieting. "How'd you like to stuff THAT into a jelly donut" or "June love his corn"....priceless. Dom D is so lovable and charming that I never even noticed he was overweight. And the Chubby Checkers? That entire scene when they get so passionate discussing their food faves while drinking hot water with lemon ("do you have any honey?") is the best!

Favorite funny movie

An old film(1980's) but my favorite funny movie--some strong language in the first few scenes, but with only one character-and doesn't continue for rest of film. About the fight with obesity and dieting--don't watch this film hungry!---lots of pictures of great food! About a serious topic(especially today with so many obese people ),but a "nice story" about an Italian family. Finally, great to have my own copy of this film!

"YOU ATE 47 DOLLARS WORTH OF CHINESE FOOD?!"...

that line and "YOU ATE THE 'ONY'!!!" still make me laugh til i cry. ok, fatso's not "citizen kane," but it's a nice curl up for a chuckle movie, suitable for all ages. beware: if you snack while watching, you too may end up calling in the "chubby checkers!" "GET THE HONEY, JUNIOR."

funny .....

dom deluise is very funny in all his comedies..this movie was funny and kind of true to life when you are trying to diet. i found the support group part and the part when hes going after his brother with a knife because he wants the key to the lock to the chained cabinets hysterical.this is a winner!!!

An undiscovered gem

Funny, sweet, and lovable--much like Dom Deluise himself. Many laughs, some mixed with heartache. Why this film was a box-office flop when released in 1980 is beyond me.
