PURE!

PURE! Both the name of Hayley's 3rd album (actually 4th, but the 1st was never released internationally), AND an apt description of her phenomenal voice. She's been likened to Sarah Brightman and Charlotte Church, and though I love both of those performers, Hayley's voice (IMHO) is the most natural and "pure" of the three. I first saw/heard her on a Brian Boitano skating special earlier this year. She was one of the vocal talents providing live music for the assembled professional skaters. The other vocalist was Andreas Bocelli, and Hayley was every bit as impressionable as was Andreas. I knew then that her voice would be a permanent part of my musical collection.

When I ordered and viewed this DVD I was even more "hooked." She not only has an angelic voice, but looks much like my personal vision of an angel. Her stage presence is both professional and down-to-earth. There is no hint of a pretentious diva.

And soon she will lend her pure voice to 4 other heavenly voices - those of "Celtic Woman" as she will be touring with them this year beginning in February. A show I will have to travel about a 100 miles to see, but it will be worth every mile! BTW: "Celtic Woman" will be appearing on the next Brian Boitano skating special New Year's day 2007. Brian certainly has great taste in music.

In summary: Hayley is a pure entertainer with a pure voice who loves what she does. She is so far from the "Britneys" of the world that it isn't funny. I highly recommend this (or any of Hayley's CD's) to anyone who wants to hear music that "heaven" must be listening to.~

This is a great home theater demonstration disc

If you have vistors and want to show them something on your home theater, this disc is incredible. While not a technical masterpiece, the emotion captured here is captivating. Most people have never heard of Hayley Westenra and I guarantee will be blown away by this performance in a home theater setting. On a number of occasions I have had visitors overwhelmed by this performance and in one case a woman told me simply "I have seen an Angel". This is the most played disc in my DVD collection. Don't miss it.

Bello DVD de una cantante maravillosa

Hayley? Su voz es angelical, clara, como si cantara sin hacer esfuerzo alguno, como si su voz no saliera de su cuerpo sino de su espiritu. Puedo decir algo mas? Si, pero no sobre ella, con lo dicho creo que basta. Si puedo hablar de Teddy Tahu Rhodes quien la acompaña en un par de canciones y conforma con la joven cantante, un duo sublime. Rhodes es dueño de una voz impactante como pocas, y se complementa de maravillas con la de Hayley. El video de "Pokarekare Ana" incluido en el DVD, es un extra de gran valor estetico. Recomendado, sin lugar a dudas.

good as or better than Sarah Brightman

Hayley Westenra is a classic pretty young lady with a beautiful pure voice. She has the style of classic Far East super stars. I can only compare her voice to Sarah Brightman's voice. She is totaly opposite to Brittney Spears who has to drop her uderwear to be attractive. Too bad for Brittney, Hayley just so happen to be very pretty too. 32 4-5 stars review, which other item on Amazon gets so much wonderful responses. The guy with 2 star is crazy by himself.
