like Yosemite Park,..spectacular, breathtaking, mind changing
I'd like to personally thank this author for making a sea-change in my way of seeing! I haven't felt so permanently uplifted, so privileged to be human, since I read Kerouac's "On the Road" a couple decades ago.
I started this book with utter contempt,.."all right, I'll see what this jerk's beef is with
God
,..and then I'll quit after the first couple chapters, and have a good gloating laugh." I started feeling the poison and it hurt and I hated it, and I felt "guilty" for continuing, but it was too compelling to stop, after awhile I was manic for more of the cyanide, and then I was crying at all the beauty and clarity I had missed, and how much of my life I've wasted just being scared of God,..because of my upbringing in the Church. Heck, now I am not sure I ever believed in any of it,..I don't think I did, I just thought I was supposed to. I was even sending my own kids to Church on Sat and Sunday, out of some grim obligation to familial expectations. THAT 10,000 YEAR OLD FAMILY TRADITION ENDED LAST WEEK. Thank you Mr. Dawkins,..thanks for being just the friggin Jerk I needed, and wrenching me and my kids out of the religion that had made my first 4 decades of life one giant shot of mental Novocaine. Obviously this is not really a "kid's review" but I would get excommunicated by my "in group" if I put my actual name to this "Confession"

Bully Pulpit Not a Bully Brit
It comes down to probabilities. Based upon the evidence Mr. Dawkins has reviewed, he has concluded that
God
doesn't exist. The book is his explanation as to why he came to his conclusions. The man is a scientist and has spent his life questioning the world around him. Blowing a blood vessel because Mr. Dawkins dares to address the issue of God's existence highlights a religious individual's insecurity about their own beliefs. Lighten up people. The book is fun, informative and worth reading just for the sake of understanding that atheism isn't some big bugaboo. Speaking as an agnostic, read it and judge for yourself. I enjoyed it very much.
