Masterpiece

The Poet is, thus far, Michael Connelly's masterpiece. Michael is to crime fiction what Stephen King is to horror. There's just no other way to describe it. His plots are complex without being confusing and his characters and dialogue are so realistic you simply disappear into his books. They are all hard to put down but The Poet actually scared me (creepiness factor 12 on a scale of 0-10).

For your sake, don't miss this one.

I'm a writer myself I simply stand in awe of Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series. If any of you choose to check out my book The Towers Of Greed please buy it from seller Whitebear as that is me.

Another Connelly Classic

I have read many of this writers books. I have yet to be disappointed. This book is typically one of his best that has many pages for hours of enjoyment.

lousy ending

This was a very good ride for most of the 500 pages. Well done, as the journalist follows the F.B.I. Authentically and factually grounded. This author just doesn't know how to sign off. This book ended and then it went on. Why? Connolly introduces the real killer without ever giving us a clue as to how or why. One of the most unsatisfying endings ever. We are led to expect more and then he dumps us.

The Poet

This is the first book by Michael Connelly that I've read that's not a Harry Bosch novel. It's very different, somewhat dark, but a great read.

Chilling and good

I've enjoyed reading Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch books and it's always a pleasure to read other characters come alive through Connelly's brilliant storytelling. The Poet's ending left me feeling there was something missing concerning some unresolved character's motivations, but it didn't bother me too much. The storytelling was too good.

I will say read "The Poet" before reading Connelly's "The Narrows" which is a sequel that brings Harry Bosch into the fray.
