Fair to partly cloudy

I love the Women's Murder Club series better than Cross - mostly because Cross tends to be gorier. But, I didn't enjoy 7th Heaven as much as the other books in the series. There wasn't as much interaction between Lindsey, Claire, Cindy & Yuki as in the other books of the series, and this is one of the things I enjoyed the most in the other books. And, the two stories seemed to drag just a bit, until near to the end of the book. But, when the stories picked up, they picked up in the Patterson fashion that I love.

He's Done Way Better

7th Heaven was just an "Okay" read. Something I'm not used to saying when it comes to James Patterson's novels. While it did keep me entertained for the most part, it was lacking what I loved most about the WMC books...which was the relationship between the four women and and all of them actually having a part in solving the cases. It also focused entirely too much on Lindsay Boxer's personal life. I can take it in small doses, but this was like half the cases and half her love life. This book focused more on Lindsay and Yuki as opposed to the rest of them. Claire only played a minor role and Cindy (who is by far my favorite character in the show and in the books) has been reduced to mere cameos.

So, like I said, it at least kept me mildly entertained, but I still couldn't get past the fact that this was focused mostly on one woman instead of the women as a whole. The ending although "shocking" was a bit far-fetched. I still recommend the book, though.

7th Heaven

Well now...James Patterson has proceeded to move into yet another "Women's Murder Club" venture. This time he has a co-author, which makes me wonder if he's about drained of his own thoughts. I don't know who wrote this book...Patterson or Maxine Paetro. Anyway, it's fairly good.
Seems as though a youngish prosty was accused of letting a heart-damaged guy lose his virginity. Supposedly he died in her arms. She calls boyfriend (Who in their right mind would let a prostitute become a "girlfriend"?) and they dismember and remove the body parts...blah, blah, blah. The DA member of the Women's Murder Club group tries the prosty and loses...because of no body, etc.
Anyway, the finish does -- finally -- tie it all together. (I'll not reveal it. Go ahead and buy the darn book!
