Well written
Breach
' is a smart, well-written and well-acted spy thriller. While it's a bit short on action (which is likely what caused its poor box office showing), don't let that stop you from checking out this film. This is an excellent HD DVD release from Universal, boasting a strong transfer and soundtrack and plenty of supplemental features.
Chris Cooper is the Man
A very smartly written script, suspenseful. Does not move fast, if you are looking for a spy thriller with a fast pace, look elsewhere, but the plot is EXCELLENT. Chris Cooper knocks another one of the park with this one, every dialogue of his has a nice bite to it...he completely overshadows Ryan, who does pull an adequate performance. A movie that applies both to the cold war and post 9/11 eras.

a great suspense
Breach
is a really good suspense movie about an FBI agent who has to keep a close eye on a mole (spy). Throughout the movie, the suspense slowly but surely builds into a very consistent story. What I especially liked about the movie was how clever the FBI agent was in coming up with intelligent ways to get out of critical situations by lying to the mole. The agent constantly had to come up with convincing stories or else the mole would suspect something was wrong. The writing was really great the entire time the way it told a fantastic story that never got boring. It's especially neat how the story worked without a whole lot of action scenes. A must see.

very Good film
Robert Hanssen is a Compelling figure and he is the Biggest American Spy in the history. He was a FBI Agent for 25 years and this film breaks down his rise, fall and the aftermath of this very compelling story. Chris Cooper and Ryan Phillippe have strong chemistry. the whole story and the elaborate takedown are classic. the commentary and the overall balance and pacing of the film will keep you drawn in.
Mildly Entertaining
This movie was mildly entertaining, but I have one major issue with the film... When you make a film that contains technical terms, PLEASE consult a technical advisor to assure you are using the terms properly and pronouncing them correctly. I just couldn't take the movie seriously after the main character demanded an assortment of requirements. They did not have to describe what an OC48 was (They got it wrong anyway) or specify they needed an IP router. That information provides no additional information to the viewer while ensuring network engineers groan in exasperation.
Other than that issue, the movie was a mildly suspensful thriller that should be enjoyable for most everyone.
