Great fun
I didn't know this book was a sequel to Blood
suck
ing Fiends before I began reading it. But, the lack of familiarity with the earlier book did not hamper my enjoyment one bit.
All of Moore's trademarks are here. Crazy people, crazy situations, and a sinister villain. The dialogue is snappy and the characters talk in the street smart that you wish you did. One thing about this book that was particularly fun was Abby Normal. Her diary had me in hysterics and eagerly awaiting the next installment.
The
story
itself is also crisply told. The pacing is fast, but allows the reader to keep abreast of what's happening. There are many familiar characters from Moore's older books, like the Emperor of San Francisco and his dogs, and a cameo from Charlie Asher.
This is the usual fare from Moore. But what's usual for him is much better than most writers' best output.

A deliciously witty and twisted romance
This is Christopher Moore at his finest. If you haven't read anything by this author before, do yourself a favor and go buy one of his books -anything really, and you're likely to be hooked. This particular book is a sequel and while you don't have to read the first one, it makes the
story
even better when you recognize characters and discover what mishaps they have blundered into -you'll enjoy getting to know each member of the cast, I promise. The story is fast-paced, silly (in a good way), romantic (in a slightly twisted fashion) and definitely a great way to spend a couple of hours on a rainy day (or on a sunny day, for that matter).
Oh, and Christopher Moore is the King of one-liners and he doesn't disappoint with "You
Suck
". I'm still prone to burst out laughing at the most inappropriate times when some of his stuff pops into my head.
If you need a laugh (and who doesn't?) Moore is ready to tickle your funny bone.

This book sucks - NOT!
Mr. Moore continues the adventures of the reluctant San Francisco vampire and her thrall in this very fun book. What's great for me, as someone who works in San Francisco, is imagining the characters as I walk the streets. Mr. Moore's style of writing is very much about the internal monologue (or, with a heavily conflicted person, dialog) and much of what makes his books so much fun is "hearing" the thoughts of the characters. Nothing new, I suppose, in terms of style, but what those people are thinking will leave you howling.
I Can't Believe I Finished a Novel...
Usually I don't read novels. Most of the time I just don't see a point in reading something that I can't use in my career, life, etc. Basically... I don't read for entertainment.
My wife insisted I read this book. After the first chapter I was absolutely hooked and finished it in only a couple days.
It's a light, easy read that is packed with humor.
Recommended for all.

Nothing Beats Christopher Moore Except Christopher Moore
This is not Christopher Moore's best book. In fact, it's not even in his Top 8. However, even when he's not up to form, there is no one better than Christopher Moore. He's a brilliant writer with not boundaries, and few peers. If you haven't read Blood
suck
ing Fiends yet, put this book down and finish up the first book. This one, in its opening sentence, spoils the ending of the first one. Christopher Moore is a genius, in the best, most insane way imaginable. You won't be disappointed.
