Double Trouble
As always we are confronted with some strange characters. But this time we get a
double
. One currently in jail and well known by
Alex
and the other a equal in insanity. We are assured for a strange and blood cooling ride as we read this novel, as all the others he has the ability to put us in the minds of these maniacs. Just so that we feel they are real people. I highly recommend this book and will look forward to the next.

Although I would love to write a book with James Patterson, his are better than the ones co-authored. This book made me hide from family and friends until I could finish it. James Patterson is my favorite author, and I love
Alex
Cross
and his family. I feel like I know them personally, and I can't wait to hear more about them. That said, I think of all his thrillers, this one slightly misses the mark.

Double Cross
Well, one has to have been rather familiar with good old
Alex
Cross
to truly get into this story. He's a psychiatrist/detective famous across the US for solving crimes. He lives in D.C. with his mother and kids. (She takes care of them when he's away.) He has a girl friend named Bree, also a detective. They're hotties. Ol' Alex and Bree have a hot potato on their hands when not one, but two nasties go around "performing" with sadistic murders. But never fear, our hero(s) win out in the end. A good, comfortable read. Enjoyable, but I do wish Patterson would get himself a better publicity photo of himself.

Starts with a bang
From the very first page, this book has you wondering what comes next. I found it interesting and couldn't wait to turn the page to see what happened next. I also found the change in viewpoint from chapter to chapter to be helpful and not at all distracting, though some might. While the prose is not nearly so lyrical as my favorite author, James Lee Burke, nor are the characters as deeply defined, I did find the book a pleasure to read.
