Power to the People
Laura Ingraham is truly a role model for all conservative
people
and her "words of wisdom" is a guide for us to take back this great country of ours from the secular progressives and the ACLU. She's truly an inspiration with so much common sense.
A book that should be read by every American
What a wonderful, warm, heart-rending book. Laura tells it like it is and doesn't mince words. I found the book to be very easily read. She also bares her soul when talking about her bout with cancer which endeared her to me. This is a very important book which should be read by all Americans to "wake them up" to the dangers that surround us. We must bring ourselves out of the apathy that we have been in for so many years. Laura's book helps us to do that.

power to the people by laura ingraham best conservative read yet
This book is extemely well written and gives practical ways to actually do something to exercise "the
power
of the
people
".
Effective at preaching to the choir, not much that is new
This book is basically an extended version of talk show host Laura Ingraham's monologue on a variety of subjects. Ingraham, of course, is conservative. She is opposed to activist liberal judges, a debased pornographic culture, excessive federal government and being friendly to China.
Ingraham has a unique place among talk show hosts, and that is reflected by this book. While she is well educated and well informed, she is not an original thinker or a scholar. She is not deeply learned in anything in particular. If you are a well-informed conservative, you will seldom hear anything new from her show. I do not believe she told me anything in this book that I had not already read.
Which is not to say that her work is without value. I often listen to her show and I liked this book. Ingraham's strength is in her passion. She is very fired up about all of this, and she translates that passion well. I would describe her as basically a cheerleader for the Right. Have you ever noticed how the music stations will carefully build up hit songs, by taking songs that are catchy to begin with, but then being careful to play them often enough, and in the right rotation, to make sure you are familiar with them and to build your enthusiasm for them?
That is basically what Ingraham does for conservative ideas and news stories. She is a hit builder. Her show is very punchy and compelling as is her writing. You have heard it before, but she builds your enthusiasm for the idea and shows you that others feel the same way.
Ingraham has an unusual voice. I, like alot of
people
, found her very jarring and abrupt at first. She has none of Rush Limbaugh's nunaced humor or of Hugh Hewitt's careful broad reading. Instead, Ingraham is very blunt, abrupt and aggressive. Her whole tone is "my way or the highway." I did not like it at first, but I found that it grows on you, rather like Dr. Laura Schlesinger, whose bluntness is equally hard to take at first.
