A "eureka" moment!!
I've been struggling for years to try to put together an IT strategic plan for a growing IT department in the face of a changing company and incomplete board strategies and directives. This book summarised my problems exactly and gave me a path forward.
Eye opening and easy to read
I rarely read books for work, but an
Enterprise
Architecture
guru from IBM recommended this one. It's no Tom Clancy, but I was able to get through the portions of the book I was most interested in in just 3 hours. The author, Jeanne Ross provides a framework to understand most types of
business
models recognizing if you don't understand your company's basic business model, how can you architect for it. The examples were helpful and the diagrams enlightening. A great book for executives who are evaluating their company's EA efforts. A great book for Enterprise Architects who want a better business perspective.

Interesting insight in the relationship between IT and the business
For those of you willing to invest some of your time in understanding the value of IT's infrastructure when integrating to the
business
, this is a really interesting read. Should be a must for CxO developping their strategies for success going forward.
EA:Foundation for Business Execution
This book is very good. It reinforces the need for establishing a sound operational model in order to realize the full benefits of EA. A very good read, especially, for a new
Enterprise
Architect.
