Folks...this is an AUDIO DVD not video.

There are quite a few negative reviews here by people who obviously do not know what an audio-DVD is. This is meant to be played on a surround sound home theater system. This is not a video. Also, playing this on a 2-channel (left/right) stereo completely defeats the purpose.

The DVD is fabulous!!!

In the interests of full disclosure, I have actually seen the show LOVE at the Mirage in Vegas. It is a phenomenal production and I highly recommend it. One amazing part was the sound. The opening of the show has you in complete darkness, just listening to "Because." Just the vocals...no music. It gives me chills now just remembering it.

When this CD/DVD combo came out, I had to have it...because it is the best way to try to reproduce the experience of the show. Try this if you're listening for the first time. But the DVD on your surround sound, tuned to 5.1. Turn off all the lights and turn it on fairly loud. Not ear crunching loud, but a nice pleasing loudness. Then sit back and enjoy the first three minutes or so. The rendition of "Because" which flows into "Get Back" will make you rediscover the Beatles. It's not quite a religious experience...but it gets pretty close.

In reality, what you are getting is a hodge-podge of Beatles songs, some incomplete and some in unfamiliar versions...all remastered brilliantly. That is kinda fun but it is not in and of itself indispensible.

I've never listened to just the CD, except in my car with its poor speakers. That is okay...but truthfully, the truly compelling reason to own this set is to enjoy the surround sound DVD. It is mind-blowing!!

I hope I've convinced you. I wish like heck the set had come with even some DVD images of just a few clips from the Cirque du Soleil show itself, or something like that...but Cirque is pretty careful about keeping its images controlled. If you go to their website, you can catch a few brief videos of the show. If you ever have the chance to see the show...grab it. It's not cheap...but it's unforgettable for the Beatles fan.

Meanwhile, this DVD/CD set is pretty darn good! Check it out!!!

There is nothing they can sing that can be sung

I had my doubts about this album as I thought it was just another greatest hits or soething like that. Little did I know that George Martin was part of the project. He did an amazing job, the 5.1 mix cant get any better.

George Martin is still a GENIOUS

Once again George Martin shows the world he is one of the best producers ever the blending of tracks is a sound experience for beatle freaks(like me) and for newcomers but the audio DVD is not what i thought it would be still it is the beatles so just listen and fall in love with the fab four again

Beatles/Love album

One of the best Beatle albums -- this album goes perfect with the show in Las Vegas which was fantastic........... it is a must see!!!
