If you consider "old-timey" a word, and appealing another, then you have the gist of "Dirt Farmer" in (almost) a word.

Music for the Times

This is music for the times. And it's no coincidence that it harkens back to the country music of the 20's and 30's, a time of great depression. Perhaps like Levon the country will get back to it's roots, or else wither in it's parched fields like the old dirt farmers' corn.

TOTAL MASTERPIECE

This is a very,very good record.
One of the best of the century so far.
A must for fans of folk country and "THE BAND"
LEVON HELM will never top "JERICO" ...THE BANDS best work in 1993.
Why is "Jerico" not on AMAZON for sale?It was one of the top 5 records of the previous century.Somebody ought to re-release it.

Refreshing Album

Starting with the first track, "False Hearted Lover" I enjoyed this CD right from the start. Listeng to, "Feeling Good" does exactly that, it makes you feel good as well as a number of other tracks on the album.

l found the dirt farmer's corn....lN MY D0ODY!!!

Levon tells about the poor old dirt farmer who lost all his coooor-ooooor-ooorn so much that l no longer felt bad for him. lf he told us about it once, l'd have sympathy for him as well as the rest of the dwindling breed of family farmers. But he told about it, over and over and over again.
