Holy Grail

Just a quick 5-star to the Harmony One. Easy to program both devices and activities. It helps to have the old remotes though. I bought this to replace a lost remote to a Sony DVP-CX995V 400-disc DVD player, and while the important commands are in the database, there are some other buttons I need to do the tweaky kinds of things. However, that is NOT logitech's fault since I lost the remote. I was also able to program custom remotes that weren't in the database to 100% accuracy.

All in all a top notch product at a great price. It's not perfect, but if you have the old remotes and an hour to program all the way, it's as close as you're gonna get without custom remotes and custom programming that cots thousands of dollars.

Super Slick Remote Control

So I read the reviews of this product and I was impressed. There weren't too many negative reviews that I read that would affect my decision so before I tell you what I think here's a little background on my "Why".

I have this gorgeous Samsung TV, its a LNT4671 purchased in January 2008. I have it connected to a DirecTV HR20 HDDVR. I just recently purchased a Samsung HTAST720S AVR Surrround Sound System to control a Samsung BDP2500 Blu-ray. Ok so if you're still with me I count 4 Remote controls that interact with my system. Samsung says that with its Anynet+ system you're TV remote controls all of your devices. Its really not true. The TV Remote does turn on the other devices via the Anynet+ settings but thats it. Switching between TV and DVD had become a nightmare for us and you always have to use the DirecTv remote for TV. Ok so lets get back to my review of the Logitech Harmony One Advanced Universal Remote.
Its FRIGGIN Fabulous! If there were 6 stars I give it to this device. I got it about an hour ago and I've been done programming it for at least a 1/2 hour. True to its word I now use this remote control and one touch button to control my system. I switch between the DVD and TV with a touch of a button. I touch the power off button and it powers off all of the devices it was using. How's that for slick. My girlfriend and I had an argument two nights ago about all of the remotes. It wasn't easy for me to explain to her how to use the system so if I wasn't home she almost couldn't use the DVD if it wasn't already setup. Okay so you have to plunk down almost $190.00, which is kind of nuts for a remote control, but if you're like me you've already invested some change in your system so its not out of the question, kind of.
Think about it - One remote control - for everything you have including a Stereo system if you have one. Up to 14 devices.
