"Heavy" hitter does a great job!

I recently moved into a new house with tall ceilings, and my old ladder was just too short. Saw this one had good reviews online, it met all of my height needs and it was rated for a good amount of weight (I'm 225 lb without tools).

The ladder is fantastic! Very stable in both A-frame and extension positions, and feels very solid. It is on the heavy side, and given it's 6 to 7 foot shortest length, it can be slightly awkward to get through standard doors and tight corners (true with any huge ladder).

I've even used it at two separate ladders with the included hardware to make somewhat of a scaffold. Actually, I used it as a base for a lever arm to lift a heavy garage door (~400 lbs?) that came off the tracks. Very tough. Very versatile. Very solid.

Just make sure you can pick it up and carry it. Most big burly men won't have a problem, but smaller folks may find it a struggle.

The best ladder out there!

This is the best most versitile ladder you could ever own. It's a little heavy but will do it all.

Great Ladder

I carry this ladder in the 6' bed of my pickup. It collapses down to about 5'. With this ladder, I always have an 8'-9' step ladder; an 18' extension ladder and it fits in elevators (I'm a contractor). As everyone has mentioned, it is a heavy ladder and you better have some upper body strength to be able set it up and to lug it around. Many times I'll use a collapsible hand truck to cart it around. My only real gripe is that the J-hooks that lock in to adjust the heights are not smooth so most times you can't simply slide the upper half done and have it automatically lock.

Super ladder but HEAVY

This ladder is really fantastic with all of the different positions you can adjust the ladder to. There are latches that allow you to adjust the length of each side of the ladder independently. These latches work smoothly and are set up to allow you to release one side and automatically latch at the next stop. This system makes the cumbersome weight of the ladder more manageable. The ladder also comes with a set of hinges that can be used with the extensions to create a second step ladder or, with the use of a board to span between them, a scaffold. One point I should make is that the advertised length includes the reaching distance of an average person standing on the highest recommended step. If you really need a ladder that is 26 feet long then this ladder will be too short.

it's working well

Bought this for doing the interior and exterior finish work on a 2nd-story 3-season porch. It's a great ladder for this job and others like it. I needed an extension ladder that would allow me to reach to 26 feet for painting, which it does. I also really like the tall stepladder capability, and being able to climb on both sides of it, or stand atop with a leg on each side. Yes, it is heavy, but I think lighter than a Little Giant. For extension ladder mode, it is much better to have a helper to help you get it set up. If you try it by yourself, keep the feet on the ground and the center of gravity under control or it will get out of control in an instant.
