Awesome!
I usually never read
book
s, but my wife got me started on it and the next thing I knew I'd read the whole
saga
!
It is by far the best Vampire story ever. It's not freakish, scary, or horrific. Forget Dracula, Blade, or anything else you've ever learned or seen with Vampires. She puts a new spin on the whole thing and does a real good job (especially the part about being in the sunlight). I'd give more details, but that would mean providing spoiler's, and I'm not about to do that. :)
Insanely Addictive
I don't agree with some of the musings that this
book
is as good as the Potter series, however, I have to say it is certainly JUST as addictive. I found out about it from a front page story in the magazine "Entertainment". After reading just 2 paragraphs of the article and a few online reviews, I knew this book was for me. I ran out and purchased the first book, that day. By the next night, I had finished it and ordered "New Moon" and "Eclipse" next day air from Amazon.
What's not to love about Bells and Edward in
Twilight
. For Buffy, Angel fanatics like me, this is just more of the same minus the girl power thing. Girl meets vampire, they fall in love and low and behold the Romeo and Juliet
saga
unfolds. Geez who wouldn't LOVE THAT. I'm serious though, I am a complete sap for all things R&J and add vampires to the mix and you have my idea of THE perfect story.
What's really not to love. Well, the writing is extremely simple. Not an SAT word to be found and this is supposed to appeal to teenagers so I guess it's more about appealing to their Danielle Steel side rather than of their JRR Tolkien. Not much better written that the average dollar store harlequin, I was sadly disappointed at the lack of depth and insight. This book also rang of complete predictability. I was much more hoping for the chapter by chapter suspense that JK Rowling managed to capture.
In summation, if you need to satisfy your Buffy/Angel itch, this might just do it.

Twilight
The
book
was very well written and kept a hold on me so strong, that it was impossible to put it down. Meyer adds suspense and thrilling action so creatively, that it makes for an amazing story.
