I need to buy another one, I keep lending mine out!

I was orphaned at 9, and never really felt comfortable asking my peers or anyone else questions about my body. We've all been there, and as women we're taught to be flawless...and if we're not flawless, to hide the fact so no one knows!

I bought this book and red it without an hour of it arriving from cover to cover. Once I was done, I started carting it around everywhere and showing it to all my female friends. In fact, I don't think it's been home for more than two days since then!

I told everyone it was at an insanely reasonable price on Amazon, and I'm pretty sure they'll all be buying copies for themselves and for female friends and relatives.

/Every female should have this book!/

A Must For All Girls

I bought this book for my 13-year-old daughter because I know there will be times when she will read/need this book. She wasn't too excited about it when I gave it to her, but it is a book that is personal in nature and content and has dead-on photos of body parts. While she may be reticent about reading it now, I'm glad I bought it for her because it is the most comprehensive girl's book I've seen. You really get your money's worth with this book. Whether my daughter's 13 or 20 when she reads the book, I know she has an excellent reference about self identity and body type when she's ready.

Fabulous book for teens

Wish I had this book when I was fourteen...Wish my daughter had this book when she was fourteen...Wish every girl could have this book at fourteen! Honest, comfortable, fun, friendly and optimistic. Very well designed,great photos of real women, deals with all sorts of body issues in a realistic and highly affirming way.

Overall, an A.

I purchased this book for my tween niece but read it first so I could ensure it was a. appropriate, b. informative, and c. interesting. It met my expectations, but did not exceed them. It had more of a "highlight" approach and didn't get into any problem solving. Truth be told, it didn't claim to have solutions and always recommended talking to a professional if there were a concern or desire for direction. All in all, a decent buy but I plan on having her finish reading and discussing it then I'll share it with other moms with similar aged girls as it's not something I'd (or anyone else?) re-read.

It's about time someone shared (bared) it all.

My daughters took co-ed Sex-Ed in 5th grade at age 10. I bought this book just before so they'd be better prepared with any questions (as well as not being embarrassed). For those of you parents out there who are hesitant to have 'the talk' with your kids because you don't know what to say to where to begin (or who are a little squeemish yourself) this is a must read. I read the book before handing it over to my girls so I was well prepared for our talk. The book goes into the 'ownership' of ones body and all our 'nooks-n-krannies', how to keep our bodies clean and healthy. It does not go into specifics on the act of sex itself or how the ovaries drop an egg each month, but it is a fantastic jumping off point for opening communication between you and your daughter. My two are heading into middle school after this summer. They will be ready!
